Cook, George Jewett, 96 of Sun City Center, passed away on April 22, 2011. Born in Bardwell, KY, on June 9, 1914, Jewett was a retired owner-operator of the Hoffman Seed House, Hoffman, IL. Jewett was a World War 2 U.S. Army Veteran receiving a Purple Heart for wounds received, Silver Star and Bronze Star, Jewett is the last Charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Sun City Center. Jewett is preceded in death by his wife Irene Cook (1995), parents, brothers. Survivors include his sons Stephen (Patricia) Cook, of Brandon, Michael (Dee Ann) Cook of Brandon, Donald (Beverly) Cook of Laurel, Maryland and Thomas (Kimberly) Cook of Brandon, 3 sisters. Jewett is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, 11:00 AM, at Sun City Center Funeral Home, Sun City Center, Fla, and family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to hour of service. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell with military honors.
