Catharine Weller was the daughter of Eliakim Weller and his wife Catharine Anna, of Manchester, VT. She was married to Capt. John Vail of Danby, VT in 1787 as his second wife. They had two children, Isaac John Vail, born 1/28/1788, and Anna "Nancy" Vail, born 2/10/1789. Capt. Vail died in 1790. She then married Capt. Alexander Barrett, son of Bartholomew Barrett of CT and Alford, Berkshire, MA. She and Alexander had six children: Sophronia, b. 8/27/1791, m. Capt. Stephen Calkins; Fanny, b. 9/27/ 1793, m. Martin Bromley; Anna, b. 9/27, 1795, m. Hiram Conger; Cantlin (De Cantillon), b. 12/14/1797, m. Mary "Polly" Odell; Laura, b. 9/2/1800, m. Joseph Allen; and Hannah, b. 10/2/1803, m. William Herrick.
