Freeda attended Radford College, earning a B.S. in 1964 and an M.S. in 1968. She retired from Floyd County High School in 1998, where she taught math and biology and was a guidance counselor. Her family and many friends will miss Freeda's caring presence but will always remember her loving spirit, pride of family and selfless dedication to others. Living in the hearts of her loved ones, she is not truly gone. Visitation hours are from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Gardner Funeral Home in Floyd. Funeral services, Pastor David Taylor officiating, will occur the following morning, Wednesday January 14, 2009 at 11 AM, also at the Gardner Funeral Home, with internment thereafter at the Jacksonville Cemetery.
