Evelyn Merle Peters Day, age 81 of Pensacola, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Day was a member of Church of God Worship Center. She enjoyed bowling, the outdoors and the simpler things in life. Her love was her wonderful family.
She is preceded death by her son, Leland Donel Day; parents, Tillman and Mary Sue Peters; three brothers, Bronzell, Mizell and James Edward Peters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Aulton E. Day; sons, Larry E. Day, Sr. and Daniel Day; sister, Agnes Edgar; two granddaughters, Cassandra Meador and Christine Mechelle Day; eight grandsons, Larry Day Jr., Jeffery Day, Michael Day, Brian Day, Danny Day, Eric Day, Gregory Day and Donel Day and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Wilbur Pittman. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Till, Harry Grellia, Henry Edgar and Charles Edgar, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Church of God Worship Center with Pastor Casey Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Council on Aging or Covenant Hospice.
