My father was a great family man. Towards the end of his working career he hated his job, but did it anyway to provide for us. He loved being able to take us on trips all over North America and was the best "vacation guide" anyone could ask for. He was quick to smile or tell a joke, and his stories of childhood, the military, and his jungle adventures in Central and South America with stick with me forever. I loved my father and his passing will haunt me the rest of my life. My brother and I had a fantastic upbringing and we owe it to our parents. Together, they provided a supportive and loving home. His battle with late stage diabetes and it's terrible effects on the body robbed him of any joy in his retirement, but before he left us, he was able to provide for my mother one last time. She now has the ability to take many trips all over the county to see old friends each year and is able to enjoy her retirement to it's fullest. I love you Dad and miss you deeply. Until we meet again...
