E.C. "Ace" Amburgey Sr.,
62, of 110 McFarland St.. died Thursday at his home after a
short illness. He was a sign painter for 40 years in the Kanawha Valley, and worked for Sillman Sign Co.. later forming his own company, the Ace Sign Co.

He was a Baptist, a long time resident of Charleston and a native of Jeffersonville, Ky. Surviving: sons. Gerald A.
with the Air Force in Seattle, Wash., James E. of Nitro. Ellis C. Jr. of Charleston. John A. and Joseph F. all from
Charleston: daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Hadadd of Charleston.
Mrs. Judith Jurin of St. Petersburg. Fla.; sisters,
Mrs. James E. Grow of Charleston, Mrs. June Wade of
Peoria, 111.: half sister. Mrs.Carolyn Anderson of Winthrop
Harbour, 111.: half brothers,Melvin McDaniel of Glasgow,
Claude McDaniel of Jacksonville. N.C.; 11 grandchildren.

Friends may call 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at 2 p.m. to 4
p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Funeral
