John A. Cristy, one of the best known tonsorial artists in Columbia, died at 4:30 o'clock this morning at his home, 15 North Fourth Street, from a complication of diseases, after about a years illness, six months of which time he had been confined to bed. He was aged forty-five years. Deceased had conducted a barber shop at 330 Locust Street. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Emma Cristy, and one sister, Sarah, wife of Amos Heidler, both of Columbia. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Deceased was a member of the Columbia Fire Company.
