Rory - Hi, I found the following taken from the Korean War records on file at the National Archives regarding his service. I thought you might like to ‘copy and paste' it to his memorial…

Gordon was living in Van Zandt, TX when he entered the service and was a member of the 224th Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division.

He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on June 8, 1952.


Corporal Brockman was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
