Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p. m. Thursday, May 22, 1975 at the Dewalt
Chapel for Byron T. VanGilder, age 84, a resident of Route 2, Borden in the Daisy Hill community, Harry Wilson and Robert Johnson will officiate at the rites and interment will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery.
Mr. VanGilder was born September 18, 1890 in Clark County, the son of O. H. and Hester Elrod VanGilder, He was a retired blacksmith and a life resident of Clark County. He died at 12:15 p. m. Monday at the National Health Enterprise Center at Clarksville.
Survivors are his wife, Rosa E. Pixley VanGilder; two sons, John E. VanGilder,Route 2, Borden and Carl O. VanGilder, Memphis, Indiana; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Jackson, Route 2, Borden and Mrs. Florence Renn, Columbus; seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, James VanGilder and Bert VanGilder, both of Columbus and a sister, Mrs. Olive Worth, Columbus.
