Mrs. Rosa E. Pixley VanGilder, age 81, a resident of Borden in the Daisy Hill community, passed away at 6:14 a. m. Saturday, October 4, 1975, at the Clark County Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
Mrs. VanGilder was born December 5, 1893 in Clark County, the daughter of Francis and Caroline Lewellen Pixley. She was a member of the Non-Demnominational Church and has been a life resident of Clark and Washington Counties. Her husband Byron T. VanGilder died in May, 1975.
Survivors are two sons, John E. VanGilder, Route 2, Borden and Carl O. VanGilder, Memphis, Indiana; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Renn, Columbus and Mrs. Ruth A. Jackson, Route 2, Borden; two brothers, John Pixley, Route 2, Pekin and Bodine Pixley, Memphis, Indiana; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Russell, Route 2, Salem, Mrs. Lorene Brown, Sellersburg and Mrs. Olive Hazelwood, Route 2, Pekin; eighteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, three sisters and three children preceded her in death.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p. m. Monday at the Dawalt Chapel with Harry Wilson and Ben Tenniswood officiating. Interment followed in the Olive Branch Cemetery.
