COOPER - Nelle Walker Hughes, 92, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011, in Paris. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Oaklawn Cemetery with Kyle Peters of Roxton First Baptist Church officiating. Interment is to follow under the directions of the Delta Funeral Home.
She was born in Cooper on Jan. 18, 1919, the daughter of John Earl and Clara Agnes Hanna Walker. She had lived in Dallas since 1948. She married Herbert Hughes, and he preceded her in death April 13, 2009.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and James Foreman, of Austin; a granddaughter, Jessica Forman, of Austin; a sister, Johnnie Steward, of Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.
