Bobby attended St Paul's Grammer School and graduated from St Peter's High School with the Class of 1964. He always wanted to be a Marine and had his high school graduation party at the Local Marine Post. Robert enlisted in the Marines 5 October 1966, at a Brooklyn Recruiting Office.

He arrived in Vietnam 20 April 1967, and was assigned to Hotel Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. He was killed while in combat by an explosive device during Operation King Fisher at Con Thien-Camo Lo Road, north of Strongpoint C-2. Robert served his country for one year and was single.

Survived by his mother, Agnes Grimmich and his stepfather, Ernest Grimmich.

Father, Robert Araujo Sr was deceased.
