May died of pneumonia, at home of her parents at 7:00 on Sunday night after an illness of one week lacking a day. The deceased was born and reared in West Hickory, and was a child of extremely lovable and sunny disposition, the sunshine of her home and the pet of the entire community. A child who's every impulse seemed for the good and comfort of those about her, and who's lovably nature and pretty ways, had made her a notable figure among her circle of child companions. Miss May was born 4-1-1883.
The funeral service which was held on Tuesday afternoon, was attended by a large number of people, among whom were her school mates, who recited the Shepherd Psalm, one which was very precious to May and which she had selected to be used on the occasion. She was conscious of her approaching departure from earth, and rejoiced to go. Her closing hours were singularly blessed with a sense of God's presence, and her words to the family and friends were such as to take away the bitterness of parting of her assurance of abiding in the arms of the Good Shepherd. The funeral services, which were very impressive, were conducted by Rev. J.V. McAninch, of Tionesta.
She was laid to rest in the Siggins Family burying plot in the Homestead cemetery in West Hickory, Forest Co. Pa.
