Hannah Olivia Josephine Williams (1834-1902)
Hannah Olivia Josephine Williams was born on September 25, 1834 in Washington D.C. She was the daughter of John and Maria Louisa (Wells) Williams. When she was seven years old, both of her parents had died along with two of her brothers and she and her remaining brother moved in with her Grandparents, John Wells Jr. and Hannah (Mayo) Wells of Washington D.C. She remained with her Grandparents until her marriage.
In March 26, 1856, Olivia Williams married Plutarch H. Dorsey, who was born November 8, 1833 near Louisville Kentucky. Eight children were born to this marriage, as follows: Mrs. Eugenia Robinson; Mr. Plutarch H. Dorsey, Jr; Mrs. Harriet Hornsby; Miss Maria Louisa Dorsey; Mr. Oscar L. Dorsey; Miss Ada Dorsey, who died at the age of nine months; Miss Cora Dorsey, who died at the age of nine years; and Mr. Wells Mayo Dorsey.
She died at her farm near Gillespie, Illinois on Saturday, July 26, 1902 at 9 o'clock a.m., aged 67 years and 10 months. She was buried at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Macoupin County, Illinois.
