Eddie "SAS" was born on August 28, 1956 in Rio Grande City, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2004 to be with the Lord. He was 48. Eddie was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed many hobbies; one of which included playing pool which was where he was given his nickname "SAS". He was a man who was loved and respected by all who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed.


Eduardo is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Antonia Rios.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Guadalupe DeLeon Garza; four children, Edward (Diana) Garza, Jr., Homer Garza (Fiance, Jessica), Bobby (Sylvia) Garza, and Sandra Garza, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren, Vanessa, Victoria, Valerie, Breanna, Edward III, Marissa, Cloey, and Zoey Garza; fourteen brothers and sisters; father, Enrique (Julia) Garza of Odem, Texas; grandmothers, Ernestina Garza of Edinburg, Texas and Lina Rios of Roma, Texas; also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation and a rosary service were held on Thursday, December 9 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A funeral mass was celebrated on Friday, December 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Park.
