W. F. Alspaw, living just at the west edge of Wilsey, suffered a paralytic stroke last night as he was preparing for bed. His entire right side is affected, and Mrs. Alspaw, who was alone in the home at the time, had to summon neighbors to carry the stroke victim to his room. His speech is affected and reports this morning indicate that his condition is little improved. This is his second paralytic stroke.

STROKE PROVES FATAL

The paralytic stroke suffered several days ago by W. F. Alspaw of Wilsey proved fatal today. Mr. Alspaw died at 3 o'clock without ever fully regaining consciousness from the attack which completely paralyzed his right side. Mr. Alspaw was born in Ohio 72 years ago, and after living for a time in Nebraska came to Nemaha county where he remained for ten years before moving to this community. He had resided in Morris county twenty-seven years. Besides the widow, Mr. Alspaw is survived by three sons, A. H. Alspaw, Walter Alspaw and Harry Alspaw of Emporia. Funeral services will be held from the home at Wilsey Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock and from the Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Gerkin will conduct the services with interment in the Wilsey cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Llewellyn Holloway of Osawatomie spent several days here with his mother, Mrs. W. F. Alspaw, who is ill. Mrs. Alspaw will make her home at Osawatomie with her son, according to reports, as soon as she recovers sufficiently to make the trip. . . The church was crowded on Thursday at the funeral services of W. F. Alspaw, and everyone realizes he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was a splendid man in every way, strictly honest and upright in all his dealings, and was always agreeable and friendly to all. . . Harry F. Alspaw and family of Emporia were here a couple of days the past week.
