1913 to 1916. It was there that he pioneered the summer camp idea, taking the
boys to Winona Lake, Indiana.
"The Rev. Mr. Bourner went to St. Louis in 1916 at the invitation of a group of laymen to carry on the work of the City Gospel Mission. Jan. 1, 1918 was the beginning of his ministy at Kingsland Church, which at that time was a
mission of West Presbyterian Church.
...During his [38] years at the Kingsland Church more than a score of his young people entered the Christian ministry. On four occasions he was chosen as a delegate to the General Assembly of the Pres. Church, U.S.A. The Rev. Bourner was widely known for his tireless efforts in connection with youth activities and served for a number of years as a director for Youth
