Gerald Byron , age 81, went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2011 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Gerald was born on May 16, 1929 to Harris and Rutilla Ashley. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1948. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1952. Gerald was the owner of Gerald Ashley Builders. He was a long time builder in Corpus Christi, and he was inducted into the CCHS Buccaneer Hall of Fame in 2005. He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, and devotion to his family. Gerald was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents: Mr. & Mrs. Harris Ashley, his brothers: Jack, Irving (Bud), and Frank Ashley.

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Louise Ashley; his sons: Gerald Byron Ashley Jr. (Jerry), Billy L. Montgomery, Kenneth Montgomery, and Richard Montgomery. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Graveside Service was held at Seaside Memorial Park on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 2:30 p.m.
