Willis Thompson was born the son on Ebenezer E. Thompson and Alcy Margaret "Elsie" Polk. His parents owned a wood and coal dealership and he and his brothers delivered wood and coal to the homes and businesses in Charlotte in the early 1900's. He married Lonie Edna Fink and together they raised 6 children. Alma, Ernest, Margaret, Bernice, Ruby and T.
He was a strict Christian and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all his heart. He was a member of Wilson Grove Baptist Church for most of his adult life.
Willis worked for Highland Park Textile Mill in Charlotte for many years.
He left behind to honor his memory, his wife and all 6 children, 11 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren.
Willis is buried beside his loving wife of 53+ years, at Wilson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Mint Hill, Mecklenburg County, NC.
