G, 79th Pennsylvania Infantry, and promoted to corporal, date as yet unknown. Wounded in the face at the battle of Perryville (Chaplin Hills), Kentucky, on October 8, 1862, the injury cost him an eye and led to his discharge by surgeon's certificate to date November 6, 1863. The injury data shown here is as yet unconfirmed and will not be until the post-covid-19 reopening of the National Archives again permits access to his compiled military service records.
He married Elmira Miller and fathered William B. (b. 06/02/65), Harriet Ann (b. 12/12/67 - married George W. Eckinger), and Effie Lillie (b. @1872 - married Oliver S. Baney). Cause of his death is listed as "paralysis [of the] throat" allegedly from a "gunshot wound of neck, Civil War."
