UNCLE ED SNIDER, OLD TIME KIOWA RESIDENT PASSES TO HIS REWARD

Mr. E.J. Snider ("Uncle Ed") another one of Kiowa's old time residents, passed away in a McAlester hospital Monday night, following an illness of several months. He was in his 84th year and had been a highly respected resident of Kiowa for the past fifty years, where he engaged in farming up until a few years ago when he retired.
Mr. Snider was born January 18, 1870, in Denton Co, Texas, and moved to the Indian Territory in 1884. He was a man of industary and integrity and always took an active part in the affairs of the community in which he resided. He will be greatly missed in Kiowa and surrounding country, where he was universally loved by all who knew him. His faithful wife preceded him in death in 1951, since which time he had resided at his home with his son, Udell Snider.
Survivors include two sons Udell Snider of the home, and Edward L. Snider of Oklahoma City, and one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Jones, of Kiowa; together with three grandchildren.
Funeral Services were conducted from the Kiowa Baptist church, of which deceased had long been a faithful member, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, by his pastor, Rev. O.L. Patterson, and the body laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery in Kiowa.
Pallbearers were Bill Harrington, J.C. Lindley, Dick Ray, Albert Henderson, S.R. Cross and J.J. McAlester.
