MRS. J.E. SNIDER OF KIOWA DIES; SERVICES FRIDAY
Mrs. J.E. Snider, 64, of Kiowa, pioneer Pittsburg county resident, died Tuesday in a McAlester hospital after a lingering illness.
She was born Nov. 2, 1886, in Mountain Home, Ark., and was a member of the Baptist church. Mrs. Snider was married Jan. 10, 1912, in McAlester, to E.J. Snider, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Alton U. Snider of Kiowa and Edward L. Snider of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Jones of Oklahoma City; a brother, Bartie Dukes of Dunbar, Okla.; six sisters, Mrs. Mary Moore of Pittsburg, Mrs. Caroline Cox of Wilburton, Mrs. William Martin of Wister, Mrs. Lillie Patten of Harpers Valley, Mrs. Sallie Roberts of Dunbar, and Mrs. Bertie McLellan of Red Lands, Calif., and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Kiowa Baptist church, Rev. Curtis Puryear, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Kiowa cemetery under direction of the Chaney Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Walter Jones, Harry Lee Rowley, Manley Jones, Bill Cason, Leon Jackson and Bill Harrington.
