Mrs. Albert L. "Rena" Mangin, 107, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, in Biloxi. Mrs. Mangin was born on April 29 in 1893. She was a schoolteacher and homemaker. She was a member of Nativity Parish and of the Nativity Choir. Mrs. Mangin was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Mangin; a son, Dr. Charles E. Mangin; her parents, Charles A. and Mary McCabe Bessey; two sisters, Marion Moniot and Sister Mary Fidelis; and a brother, Albert E. Bessey. Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth F. Melancon of Biloxi, Margaret L. Gilmartin of Chicago, Ill., and Berthe L. Mangin of Biloxi; three sons, Albert L. Mangin, Jr. and Edward J. Mangin, both of Biloxi, and John F. Mangin of Ocean Springs; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A service will be at 2 p.m. today at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral in Biloxi where friends may call an hour before service time. Burial will be in Biloxi City Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi was in charge of arrangements.
