Memorial services for Ann Ivy Lorenzen of El Reno were held Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church with Rev. Barney Jackson officiating. Services were under direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
Ann died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Tulsa. Ann served as a "student helper" in the foster grandparent program at Roblyer Middle School, working with students to improve their math and reading skills. She said it was so much fun working with the students and amazing how young it makes you feel. Grandma Ann was an excellent seamstress, making everything from suits and formals to Halloween costumes. She loved to read, was a great cook and excellent china painter. You would never find Ann's home without a cat and perhaps a dog. She was a member of Christ Memorial Episcopal Church and a former member of the China Painting Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Creta (Burke) Ivy; a sister, Helen Dunagan; a daughter, Susan Redfern; and a grandson, Matthew Hill.
Survivors include a son, Michael J. Lorenzen and wife, Linda of El Reno; a stepson, Mark Lorenzen of El Reno; stepdaughters, Sandy Lorenzen of El Reno, Jan Shelton of Parker, Colo., and Teressa Hamer of Tulsa; brother, Tom Ivy and wife, Frankie of Hurst, Texas; sister, Jeanette Davis and husband, George of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Julie and husband, Justin Monday of Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., John Hill of Enid, Chris and wife, Kelle Lorenzen of Oklahoma City and Jared Lorenzen of Oklahoma City; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
