Israel B. Cook was also in the Mexican War. He was a private in Capt. Joyner's Co., 2nd Regiment, . Kentucky Infantry. and was at New Orleans, Louisiana in Nov. 1847
He had enlisted the 9th of June 1846 at Louisville, Ky., and was discharged Dec. 14 1846, at Ceralvo, Mexico. after serving the 6 month enlistment.
Secondly his service in the United States Army, Corporal, under Lt. Thomas Mc Alpine's Company, (13th) of the Batt. Vet. Res. Corp, U.S. Army, enlisted by J. W. Clark, Stuberville, MO., 25th August l862, to serve 3 years.

Israel was born in Chester Co, Pa.,He stood five feet 7 1/2 in high, fair complexion, blue eyes, grey hair, and occupation carpenter. He again received a disability discharge and was stationed at the Marine General Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.on December 29th, l864 dishcarged from duty..Soldiers home address Steelville, MO.
