Beloved wife of William McGinnis, whom she married on 22 December 1884, at Wilsonburg, before the minister L.W. Roberts, in the presence of her father.

She was the daughter of John Cunningham and Rebecca Sayre Cunningham of West Virginia, from her death record; (the informant was her son Russell) - Minerva's marriage record gives her mother's name as Mariah. The name of Sayre must have been a misread or mistake as records for Minerva's siblings give their mother's maiden name as Swiger.
Rachel Swiger married John Cunningham in 1847.

Minerva lost several of her children, there is a tintype of a young girl handed down with the ones of Wm. and Aunt Minerva, who could be one of these children, but there is no information.

Her children,
Martin L. born Oct 1885, probably the Martin who died in 1907, at Fairmont, typhoid fever, age 21.
Dakota E. born Oct 1886, daughter.
Ira G. born 1889, was killed in a mine.
Carrie F. born May 1891, died fairly young.
Russell Edward born Nov 1892.
Lula, born May 1896, WV birth certificate indicates she was a twin.
Adda, born Oct 1897.
Raymond Hunter, born Apr 1900.

The family was residing at Newburg in 1900. She died at St. Mary's Hospital in Clark District of Harrison County, WV; 88 yrs, 1 mth, 22 days old.

Burial on 15 Oct, 1947.
