John Baptist Beasley II was the only child and son of Joseph Beasley and Elizabeth Norcom. He married twice. First Anne Nancy Hoskins and second Mary Alexander. He was a state senator to the NC Assembly from Tyrell Co 1821-1831 and in 1835. He was listed in the 1850 census as a grocer and the 1850 slave schedule documents 14 slaves belonged to him.

His children by Anne Nancy Hoskins (1798-1826), his first wife, were
* Joseph H Beasley (1818-1881) who married Martha Caroline White and moved to Alabama, and
* John Baptist Beasley III. (1820-1870) who married Elizabeth Lewis
* Henry E Beasley (1822-1822)
* Charles Beasley (1825-1828)

His children by Mary Alexander were
* Mary Elizabeth Beasley Knox (1828-1890) who moved to Canada after she was widowed
* Martha Norcom Beasley b1829 who married Benjamin Cole,
* Harriet Maria Beasley (1831-1834)
* Henry Alexander Beasley (1832-1837)
* Ebenezer Pettigrew Beasley (1835-1837
* Harriet Alexander Beasley (1837-1897) who married William Alexander Littlejohn and moved to Canada taking her widowed mother with her and her sister with her,
* James Edward Beasley (1839-1925) who married Rebecca Minna Treadwell and moved to TN,
* Henry Ebenezer Beasley (1843-1856)
* William Fessenden Beasley (1845-1923) who married Mary Sidney Hewett and moved to Baltimore,
* Sarah Jane Beasley (1847-1857) who is buried near her father, and
* Charles Leaf Beasley (1849-1850)
