Double Funeral At Olive Branch

One of the largest funerals held in the county occurred Sunday afternoon at Olive Branch church,
when the remains of Wiley W. Elrod, age 63 and his nephew, Archie L. Vangilder, age 27 years were laid to rest in Olive Branch cemetery. Funeral directors Dawalt and Littel had charge of funeral arrangements. Rev. D. H. Rosier of Pekin, conducted the final memorial ceremony.
Mr. Elrod was one of the exemplary citizens of his community and was held in the highest esteem. He and his nephew were called by the hand of death, the same day, answering the inevitable summons, Friday.
The following brief sketches have been furnished:

Elrod, of Salem, Dr. S. B. Elrod, of Henryville and H. G. Elrod of Pekin; two sisters, Mrs. Ulrich Temple, of Pekin; Mrs. O. H. Vangilder, of Borden and a host of friends to mourn his departure.
