CAVANAUGH, NAOMI M., 92, of Louisville, passed away on May 16, 2011 at Nazareth Home.

She was born on March 17, 1919 to the late George William and Mary L. Newkirk Thomas.

She was the owner of Naomi's Hair Styles, a volunteer at the Newburg Community Center, a member of the Fern Creek United Methodist Church, Fern Creek Woman's Club, Moose Lodge #573, Cosmetologist Association of Hair Dressers, the Red Hat Society; the Fern Creek Business Woman's and also was an Eastern Star and Kentucky Colonel. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers; five sisters; nieces, Phyllis and Maxine; and nephews, Bobby, Howard, Manuel and David.

She is survived by seven nieces, Rose Marie, Joyce, Barbara, Jewell, Dorothy, Pat and Mary; a nephew, Leslie; and her caretaker and great-nephew, William (Laura) Schroeder.

A celebration of her life will be conducted Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with private family entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
