Mrs. Cyr was born August 20, 1915 in Bluefield, West Virginia, the daughter of James Marshall and Hazel Becker McCormick.
She was a homemaker and devoted supporter of her husband's foreign service career.
She married Leo George Cyr on April 30, 1941 in Washington, DC. Ambassador Cyr died on July 27, 2003.
Surviving are a son, Leo M. Cyr of Gulf Breeze, FL; two daughters, Kitty C. Godlewski of St. Petersburg, FL and Nancy C. Keplinger of Gainesville, VA; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A grandson, Richard Keplinger preceded her in death.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A. M. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at St. Bridget's Chapel in the Field, Berryville with Rev. Michael Dobbins officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville.
