Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Sunset Chapel of Taft Funeral Home for Eva Newman Schertz, 65, who died yesterday in a local hospital. She was born March 2, 1915 in Borger, Texas and was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church. She and her husband, Art, owned and operated the Desert Aire Rest Home from 1964 until last year when he retired. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, five daughters, one sister, 17 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Friends who wish may call prior to services at Taft Funeral Home. Burial will be at the West Side Cemetery.
