Frank R. Ellwood, 45, Mines Road, manager and secretary of the Central Lumber and Supply Co., and a member of one of the city's pioneer families, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Warren City Hospital from complications following an operation which he underwent three weeks ago.

Mr. Ellwood was associated in business with his father, Thomas H. Ellwood, founder of the lumber firm, and his brother-in-law, George Mercer.

He was born in Niles April 7, 1902, a son of Thomas H. and Bridget Ellwood, and spent his entire life here. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church and the Altar Society.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Theresa Kornitzer Ellwood, to whom he was married in Everett, Wash., 20 years ago; four sons, Richard, Rolland, Raymond, Robert, one sister, Mrs. George (Cecelia) Mercer.
