In 1908, he married his cousin, Johanna Radmaker who had just immigrated from the village Austria that he had been born in. They set up housekeeping on Fred's land in Lost Valley.
They worked hard to make the farm successful, built a nice home and raised a family of 5 children, surviving the hardships of the depression to see four of their children receive college degrees. They retired from life on the farm to a home in Chehalis, WA and celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in 1968.
These special people are a wonderful example of our
immigrant ancestors, who left their homes and families to give their future generations a better life, To them we are all grateful.
