Jesse James Evans was born on July 3, 1934 and departed this life on April 15, 2001
He was united in marriage to Wilma L. McBride on July 12, 1952 and he turned his life over to the Lord in June 1999. To this union six children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an uncle, a niece a nephew and a great grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma of the home; and six children, Jesse Evans and his wife, Joanne of Osceola; Rocky Evans and his wife, Donna of Belton; Tony Evans and his wife, Karen of Stilwell, Kansas; Tommy Evans and his wife, Brenda of Oak Grove; Travis Evans and his wife, Deloris of Urich, and Julia Garver and her husband, Clarence of Flemington; two sisters, Wanda Steuber of North Kansas City and Deloris Moss of Kansas City, Kansas; 20 grandchildren; five great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for him were Thursday, April 19, at 1 p.m. in the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel, Osceola, with Greg Mangum officiating.
Music was by Donna Carney, vocalist and Gail Ingle, accompanist.
Casketbearers were Jesse Evans, Rocky Evans, Tony Evans, Tommy Evans, Travis Evans, and Jason Evans.
Honorary casketbearers were James Evans, Clarence Garver, Lane Coleman, Robert Fritts, Rob Coleman and Charles Allen Carroll.
Interment in the Osceola Cemetery, under the direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
