DAVID THOMPSON IS DEAD EIGHT MONTHS AFTER WIFE - Was Father of Thirteen Children and Uncle of Carmi THOMPSON -- David THOMPSON, for many years a prominent west side citizen, died at his home on Pilgy's Knob Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock after several months of declining health. Heart disease, complicated with other ailments was the cause of his death. Mr. THOMPSON was an uncle of Carmi THOMPSON, former treasurer of the United States, and one of the national figures in President Taft's administration. He was himself an ardent Republican and had served here as a member of the last board of appraisement. His wife Sarah THOMPSON died only eight months ago. Mr. and Mrs. THOMPSON came here from Lawrence county as young folks and spent practically all their mature lives here. They were a solid substantial family that earned the respect and friendship of a wide acquaintanceship. Thirteen children born to the THOMPSON home survive their father and mother. They are Chas. with whom Mr. THOMPSON lived since his wife's death, Arthur of Springfield, Henry of Wellston, David, Orin and Luther of Springfield, Ruth at home, Mrs. Dora MATTHIAS and Mrs. Edith KEPLINGER of Springfield, Mrs. Elizabeth CULVER and Mrs. Frances WADE of Athens, Mrs. Myrtle HALL of Greenfield and Mrs. Nellie CROCKETT of Sharonville.
