LELAND-Funeral services for Gabe C. Abdo, 53, prominent Leland merchant will be at Leland First Baptist Church at 4 p.m. today with Rev. James Richardson, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. James McCafferty of Leland First Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery with Boone Funeral Home in charge of arrangements, Mr. Abdo died in White Memorial Hospital at 3:50 a.m. Saturday.
He was employed at D and N Auto Parts in Greenwood as a bookkeeper from 1939-1942. He was enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, receiving a discharge in 1945. Since that time he was well known as a Leland grocer and active in Leland First Baptist Church.
Survivors are his widow, the former Alma Carpenter, whom he married in 1940, a son Frank Brian Abdo, both of Leland; five sisters Mrs. Victoria Farris, Mrs. W. J. Condon, Mrs. A. W. Bouler, all of Leland; Mrs. Ava Lee Breeden of Dayton, Ohio and Mrs. H. P. Reinsch of Greenville.
Also two brothers, E. N. Abdo Jr. and George E. Abdo, both of Greenville.
