Louise was born on June 18, 1912, in Iron Mountain, to the late Domenic and Elisa (Busetto) Contarini. She graduated first in her class at Iron Mountain High School, and later attended two years of business college in Los Angeles, where she also worked for a short time. Louise had a great singing voice and had several offers to travel with some of the big bands from Chicago to replace singer, Helen Forrest.
On Sept. 15, 1950, she married John H. LeRoy in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1993. After the couple moved to Two Rivers in 1956, Louise worked for Paragon Electric Co. serving as secretary to Mr. E.V. Platt and later to Mr. George Platt. She retired in 1969.
Louise was a longtime faithful member of Grace Congregational United Church of Christ; and member of the Two Rivers Women's Club. She was a former member of the Two Rivers Lady Elks and the Two Rivers Garden Club. Louise was a very generous person who enjoyed giving and receiving greeting cards; she loved to read, and she loved people.
Survivors include one sister, Eleanor Aberly of Kingsford and three nieces and a nephew, Gloria (Dr. George H.) Boyce of Iron Mountain, Elizabeth Fagan of Iron Mountain, Gerri Doehr of San Diego, and Patric Bolognesi of Huntington Beach, Calif.; several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, 2801 Garfield St., Two Rivers, Wis.. Rev. Kim Henning will officiate at the service, with entombment in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc, Wis.
