ANDOVER — Barbara Ann Finicle, age 68, of Andover, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, as a result of an automobile accident in Portage County.

She was born June 10, 1942, in Elyria, Ohio, the daughter of Alexander O. and Marcella M. (Vehlber) Schoenbachler. She graduated from St. Jude High School in Elyria and was a graduate of Elyria Memorial Hospital School of X-Ray Technology. Ann "Barb" married Charles B. Finicle on May 22, 1971 and they moved to Andover in 1975.

She was employed by Greenville Regional Hospital in Greenville, Pa. for several years and by the office of Dr. Henry Debiec in Andover for seven years. Formerly, Ann was employed by Elyria Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Andover, where she was responsible for the Neocatechumenal Way and was involved in bible studies. She also was a former member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Andover for many years; and served as a poll worker for several years.

She was an avid quilter and belonged to the "Covered Bridge Stitchers", enjoyed sewing and crafts and traveling with her many friends. She was always devoted to attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's special events and just as devoted to her many friendships. She was an aunt and surrogate aunt and grandma to many.

Ann is survived by her brother, William A. (June Ann) Schoenbachler of Lansing, Mich.; step-daughter, Dawn R. (Tim) Pope of Elyria, Ohio; three grandchildren, Robin Caruso, Terri Stephenson and Kelly Kramer; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Emma Stephenson; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles on Oct. 14,1994; her parents; step-daughter, Diane L. Kramer; and a brother, Thomas Schoenbachler.

A Mass will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21st, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, S. Main St., Andover, Ohio, with the Rev. Kevin McCaffrey officiating. Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio.

Calling Hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., TODAY, Friday, May 20th, at BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio.
