He worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service at Griswold Plaza, retiring in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He was a life member of the East Erie Turners. He was also a member of the Siebenbuerger Club and enjoyed golf.
He was preceded in death by his wife, H. Eileen Granahan Durovchic, in 1995; a son, George F. Durovchic; a sister, Mary Mongiello; and a brother, Michael Durovchic.
Survivors include a son, James M. Durovchic and his wife, Jane, of Erie; a daughter, Christine Paskvich and her husband, William, of Stuarts Draft, Va.; a brother, John Durovchic and his wife, Ellen, of Vancouver, Was.; a daughter-in-law, Frances M. Durovchic of Greenville, S.C.; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
