Mary Charlatta Peterson (Gustafson) was born in Tuna Parish Area, District of Tunalan, county of Kalmar, Sweden. She came to America in 1884 and went directly to Ophiem, Illinois. She married Frank Otto Theodore Johnson on March 8, 1893 in Moline, Rock Island County, Illinois. They had four children: Frances Marie, Norma Katherine, Vernon Theodore, and Anna Linnea. When Frank died she married Frederick J. Lindquist on November 24, 1910 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Mary died as a result of falling down some basement stairs at the age of 83 years.
