They moved in with Sophia (Gates) Alger when her husband John died very young on 22 June 1868. The 1870 Federal Census shows this family. Sophia then remarried John's older brother Milo Alger. Milo had married Adaline Summerton in 1860 but she divorced him in 1865 (per Warren Mail articles on those dates). Milo, Sophia, Milo's stepsons Ernest and John, and his son with Sophia Harry show up in the 1880 Federal Census
