Robert L. Adams, 87, of Trenton, died Thursday (Oct. 16, 2003) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born Feb. 12, 1915, to Ethan Claude and Daisy L. (Harrison) Adams in Hitchcock County. He grew up on a farm in the Cornell Community and attended Trenton High School.

On Sept. 2, 1941, he married Cecilia Frank in McCook. The couple farmed in the Cornell community where he was a pitcher for the Cornell baseball team until the late 1950s. The couple moved to Trenton in 1986.

He was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and served on the school board and the election board.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Aubrey Adams and Ethan Adams; and two sisters, C. Maun Frank and D. Loree Gibson.

Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Adams; one son, Robert C. Adams and wife, Vickie of Trenton; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton with the Revs. Gary Brethour and Patrick Murphy officiating. Interment will be at St. James Cemetery in Trenton.

The rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:30 p.m., at Herrmann Funeral Home in Trenton.

Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call the funeral home in Trenton.
