He was an Iron Worker by trade and for many years served as a representative for the United Stone & Allied Prod Workers/AFL-CIO, and was injured in a construction accident in Chile a few years before his death, where he spent several month in rehabilitation before being able to return to the United States.
He was survived by his wife, Faye Johnson Clark, and sons Steven, Michael, and Jeffrey.
