Bob was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania to Clifford and Bessie Emery. He had three brothers and four sisters. He joined the Army at the age of 18 and went to Germany after the war for cleanup efforts. He met his wife, Ellie there and brought her home to Allentown. They had two children, Robert, Jr. and Gisela.Bob worked for Bethlehem Steel for many years but than went to work for the Post Office. He loved that job. Bob and Ellie lived many years in Allentown raising their children and after the children left home, they moved to Orefield - they loved this house as it was in the country. Elly died in 1999 and Bob stayed in the house in Orefield - he learned to cook and clean and enjoyed visits from his two grandsons, Bobby and Tommy. Tommy often spent weeks at a time with Bob and they became best of friends.
