Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Sauk Centre for Regina Brooks, 79, of Sauk Centre who died unexpectedly of a stroke on March 9, 2005 at the St. Michael's Hospital, Sauk Centre. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sauk Centre.
Friends may call from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Sauk Centre. Sauk Centre Seniors will pray at 4 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 6 p.m. and Christian Mothers at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Regina Brooks was born October 8, 1925 near Royalton, MN to Frank Simon and Frances (Marshik) Trutwin. She grew up on farms in the Rice, MN area. She made her solemn communion in 1938. Regina was employed by General Electric. She met Walter H. Brooks at the Prom Ballroom and they were married on October 28, 1950 at Rice, MN. They briefly lived in Hudson, WI and moved to Sauk Centre where they raised 6 daughters. She was also employed as a lab tech for DHIA in Sauk Centre. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, which she held the office of president several times, Sauk Centre Seniors, The Befriender Group, Foster Grandparent at the Home School, Carpettes, a line dancing group, Volunteer at the St. Michael's Nursing Home, and the 500 Card Club. Regina enjoyed line dancing, gardening, collecting frogs, helping people, the Stearns County Fair, going on casino trips with her friends, and watching her children and grandchildren grow.

Survivors include her children, Susan Brooks and friend Bill Eckerson of Morris, Diane Spencer of Deming, New Mexico, Joan Thompson (Gary) of Grangeville, Idaho, Carmen Gardiner (Steven Andrew) of Maple Plain, Lavonne Kostrzewski (Leroy) of Detroit Lakes, Gretchen Smith (Charles) of Nokesville, Virginia; brothers and sisters, Rita Kampa and Josephine Kaeter of Sauk Rapids, Joseph Trutwin (Rosella) of Naples, Florida, Francis "Frano" Trutwin (Delrose) of Anderson, South Carolina, Victor Trutwin (Karen) of Rice, Theresa Silvernail of Oldsmag, Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Art McMahon of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Edna and Don Cahoy of Hudson, WI, Alice and Don Okenek of Spooner, WI, Joe and Arlene Mrkonich of Minnetrista, MN, Wayne Brooks of Stewartville, MN; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter H. Brooks on July 9, 1985; infant daughter, Eileen Ruth Brooks; brother and sister, Claude Trutwin and Mary Parent and sister-in-law, Ione Brooks.
