Walter H. Brooks SAUK CENTRE Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church for Walter H. Brooks, 735 Minette Road, 57, who died Tuesday at his home. The Rev. Victor J. Kinzer will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today at Schad Funeral Home. Christian Mothers will pray at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home in Sauk Centre followed by parish prayers at 8 and Knights of Columbus at 9. Mr. Brooks was born Oct. 7, 1927, in Clam Falls, Wis., to Helen (Johnson) Blood and the late Henry A. Blood. He married Regina G. Trutwin Oct. 28, 1950, in Rice. He previously lived in Hudson, Wis., and since 1951 at Sauk Centre. He served in the Army during World War II, owned and operated Walt Brooks TV and Radio in Sauk Centre, was corrections counselor for Minnesota Home School from 1968 until retiring in 1981 and was also employed by Stearns County Dairy Herd Improvement Association Lab at Sauk Centre since 1968, presently serving as manager. He was a former scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 25 of Sauk Centre and a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Bishop Busch Council 4863 Knights of Columbus and St. Cloud Cycle Club. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Susan) Hamrum, Morris; Mrs. Greg (Diane) Viney, El Paso, Texas; Mrs. Gary (Joan) Thompson, Rice; Mrs. S. Andrew (Carmen) Gardiner, Orono; Mrs. Leroy (Lavonne) Kostrzewski, Detroit Lakes; Gretchen, Miami, Fla.; mother, Mrs. Helen Peterson, Clam Falls, Wis.; brother and sisters, Wayne, Stewartville; Mrs. Don (Edna) Cahoy, Hudson, Wis.; Mrs. Art (Doris) McMahon, Eau Claire, Wis.; Mrs. Don (Alice) Okenek, Spooner, Wis.; Mrs. Joseph (Arlene) Mrkonich, Duluth; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Eileen. Pallbearers will be Harry Anderson, David Cahoy, Dale Emmel, Joseph Berling, Ray Fitch and Dennis Primus.
