OGDEN, Utah—Funeral services for R. Eugene Sellers were conducted Tuesday at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery, Rock Springs.

Sellers, 87, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 1991, at his home of causes incident to age.

He was born Jan. 4, 1904 in Raymond, Alberta, Canada, a son of James Albert and Katherine Emma Fowkes Sellers.

He married Ada Rosella Pate on April 10, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Oct. 22, 1977. He married Mary Pate Shinsel in 1978 in Ogden. She died March 17, 1989.

He had lived in Cumberland, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Evanston, Rock Springs, Great Falls, Mont. and moved to Ogden in 1961.

He was a member of the Ogden 20th LDS Ward. He served as the bishop in the Rock Springs Ward and the Rock Springs 2nd Ward. He served three fulltime missions for the Church to Canada, England and Pennsylvania. He was a branch president in the Cramlington Branch of England; district president in London, Ontario, and served on the high council in the Lyman Stake. He also served in various positions in many organization of the church.

Sellers had worked for the U.S. Post Office for 35 years. Following his retirement, he worked at Weber State University and also as a custodian for the LDS Church in Ogden and Great Falls, Mont.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Eugene E. Sellers, Eden; Raymond R. Sellers, Mountain View; John A. Sellers, Salt Lake City; Ida Marie Franc, Rock Springs; Eva L. Mudrow, Morgan, Utah; 36 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers and one sister, Harry Sellers, Rock Springs; Fred Sellers, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Lenora Wright of Farson.

He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Dale Sellers; two daughters, Ella Wolfley Macurdy and Rose Simonson; two brothers and five grandsons.
