James Brownlow Blackwell died Tuesday afternoon, July 23, 1985 at his residence following a brief illness. Native of Henderson County, NC and born on Dec. 12. 1905. A lifelong resident of Henderson County, NC. Son of the late James B. and Hattie McCall Blackwell and a retired employee of the Cranston Print Works, having served for 20 years, retiring in 1970. He attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Edneyville and was a U. S. Navy Veteran. Survivors included: his wife, Clara Freeman Blackwell; two sons; one brother and one grandson. He was 79 years of age at his demise and interment was in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. (Original Funeral Notice was rewritten to conform to Findagrave Rules by Record Hunter.)
