James Brownlow Blackwell died Tuesday afternoon, July 23, 1985 at his residence following a brief illness. Native of Henderson County, NC and born on Dec. 12. 1905. A lifelong resident of Henderson County, NC. Son of the late James B. and Hattie McCall Blackwell and a retired employee of the Cranston Print Works, having served for 20 years, retiring in 1970. He attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Edneyville and was a U. S. Navy Veteran. Survivors included: his wife, Clara Freeman Blackwell; two sons; one brother and one grandson.
