Mary Elizabeth (Barnes) Leonard of Bloomington, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 20, 2006.

Mary was born in Pierre, S.D. on Feb. 11, 1930 to Guy F. and Hazel (Davis) Barnes.

She is survived by her daughter Karen E. Leonard of Saint Paul, Minn..

She was a graduate of Pierre High School (Riggs High School) in 1948. She attended College at University of Colorado and Iowa State College.

She is also survived be two brothers, Pierre D. Barnes of Pierre, S.D. and nieces Gwendolyn Kleinschmidt and husband Randy of Pierre, S.D.; Geraldine Baucom and husband Tom of Colorady Springs, Co; John (Jack) Barnes and wife Mary of Austin, Texas; and nieces Brenda A. Barnes of New York, N.Y.; Diane Roepke and husband Mark of Burnsville, Minn.; and nephew Brian J. Barnes of Vadnais Heights, Minn.; Step nephew Todd Groseclose and step niece Jill Elizabeth Groseclose. Also numerous grandnieces and grandnephews, and cousins on her mother's side of the family and her father's.

Besides being a landowner of properties in South Dakota, Mary practiced genealogy and was very skilled at following the family trees of her clients.

Services are pending. In lieu of flowers a memorial can be sent to the American Heart Association.
