SCHATZMAN JR, Robert "Ed", 60, of Spring Hill, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011. He was born in St. Petersburg, FL. Ed served in the Army Reserve for 6 years. He was the senior vice president for automotive services and has worked with AAA Auto Club South for 45 years. Ed was a graduate of St. Petersburg Junior College and University of South Florida. He was an ordained elder and deacon in the Presbyterian Church, USA. Civic organizations include; Optimist International; Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg; West Central FL Council, Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Ed has been registered with Boy Scouts since 1958, a treasured scouter who was active in Scouting for 53 years, father of two Eagle scouts, and a friend of the many whose lives he touched during his 60 years, was a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow, a Silver Beaver Award holder, and earned his Eagle rank in 1967 as the fifth Eagle scout from Skyway's District Troop 301. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Stefanie; three sons, Robert Schatzman III of Rockledge, FL, Peter Schatzman of Spring Hill and his fiancé, Sarah Smola of Lutz and Jaeden Schatzman of Spring Hill; brother, Rick Schatzman and his wife Karen of Colorado Springs, CO; as well as many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24th at the Land O' Lakes Church of God. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Central FL Council, BSA at 11046 Johnson Blvd, Seminole, FL 33772 or you may donate to the Christian Social Services at 5514 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Land O' Lakes, FL 34639.
